I have been asked so many times if I were from New Orleans.
My answer has always been: in a past life I must have been from New Orleans.
I didn't stop to think about what it meant.
I paint New Orleans, but I don't live in New Orleans.
I feel at home in New Orleans, but I live in a State I no longer even like.
It made no sense.
I will be leaving Illinois for New Orleans on the 12th for the last time.
In this lifetime I may not be from New Orleans, but I sure do belong there.

I bought a painting from you years ago and every now and then I'll check in to see what you've been working on. Congratulations on the move. I hope you love our city as much as I do. Welcome!

I absolutely love the balcony painting with the greens...so gorgeous. It reminds me that I know what it means to miss New Orleans.
Thank you both so much
