COBALTO DRUSE NECKLACE
I just completed this one.
It features an all natural Cobalto Druse.
The stone has beautiful crystal coverage and a lot of sparkle.
I set it in a shadowbox frame that completely protects the druse.
Handmade chain and as always one of a kind.
This necklace was 90 percent finished for several weeks.
I had to put it away along with some other almost finished work.
I was trying to use my time to make some show stopping pieces that would help me get into
some of the better art shows.
Sadly, I ran out of time.
(Story of my life )
Finished my booth design though.
Now, it is all waiting until the next year.

CLOISONNE ENAMEL NECKLACE
I have created the enamel for this necklace a little over a year ago under the guidance from Ricky Frank. It has been sitting at various locations of my bench all this time waiting to be set.

ONE OF A KIND RINGS
I have two new rings . One was just recently completed and the other has been hanging around
for a while. I don't know why I never photographed it before.
The Spiderweb Turquoise is a simple ring in a textured setting. The Opalized Wood ring is another in my new stone on stone settings.

PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING
I have been asked so many times to show my process.
Some of you may already know that I don't sketch before starting a painting.
There a some very few exceptions, but I start out blocking colors and shapes without a sketch.
For these pink hydrangeas I painted my ground blue because I wanted some of the color to show through.
I block the background in and the hydrangeas.
I never really think about it, but I'm pretty sure I go from dark to light in all of my paintings.
Now, this is my "sketch".
If I like the composition, I just go ahead and lay on more color starting
to create the texture and some definition.
I've added some leaves, mostly for placement at this point and
defined the hydrangeas.
In the next photo you can see a lot more paint has been applied to the hydrangeas
in order to create highlights, light source and shape.
these are going to be more pink than purple, so here I load my knife with brighter colors and apply
the highlights as well as more texture.
This is my last progress photo. At this point, I will add highlights to the leaves
and perhaps fine tune making small corrections and adding details.
I don't have the final photo yet, but it is coming as soon as the rain stops.
And Voila!

NEW ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER
A new painting today of green old shutters in the Quarter.
Short days of Winter. They really have an effect on me and I can't wait for
the spring time change. I am drained of energy. Unproductive.
I'm cooking chicken soup after chicken soup after chicken soup.
Maybe some bright light bulbs will pick me up.
I'll go dig for some of the old outlawed ones.
I have no idea what I'll do once they're gone.
